  • Individuals suffering from dementia commonly experience impairments in occupational and social functioning and may present behavioral disturbances.
  • Dementia is not a normal part of aging.
  • The signs/symptoms of dementia include the following:
  • Getting lost in a familiar area
  • Forgetting the names of close family and friends
  • Not being able to complete tasks independently
  • Problems with memory
  • Problems with attention
  • An inability to communicate effectively
  • A diminished ability to reason and problem solve
  • Poor judgment
